“I loved painting Lorian with her sweet turned-over ears – and this head portrait is titled Milk Time. I’m told that while she was still at the sanctuary, she kept the keepers on their toes with her masterful tricks to get an extra bottle of milk that was meant for another elephant! Cheeky and full of character, she was a firm favourite in this special herd. After being rewilded in June 2024 with the rest of Reteti’s fourth release herd, she’s been flourishing in the wild, and I do not doubt that she’s adding extra sunshine to their days out there!” – Karen Laurence-Rowe
