Putting the I in i-ndependence, he never liked to be told what to do by the keepers, but that didn’t make them love him any less. In fact, his caring nature endeared him to everyone, and was always looking out for the younger orphans. I loved being able to observe his entire personality with all of these facets for this painting, and am so proud of his journey – which led to his release in June 2024!” – Karen Laurence-Rowe
